It was such an honor to be a part of Bri and Kendall Young-Dennis’s wedding at a breathtaking private estate in Valley Center that perfectly captured their vision of an organic, nature-forward wedding. This San Diego wedding was the perfect example of letting California’s beauty speak for itself. The Valley Center property was the perfect backdrop for their wedding day that felt both intimate and elegant.
What made this San Diego wedding celebration extra special was the venue itself. The gorgeous Valley Center property that they found through Wedstay, a platform that’s like Airbnb but specifically for properties that allow weddings. This property provided Bri and Kendall’s entire wedding party and family a comfortable place to stay, making it a wedding to remember. The property had multiple houses, allowing guests privacy while still having close proximity to each other. It was not only the perfect wedding venue for the couple but also made this San Diego wedding feel like a mini getaway to everyone who stayed on site.
Since the wedding party was staying on site, it made getting ready for their wedding day relaxed and easy. Everyone was enjoying each other’s company throughout the morning, and the bridesmaids got their hair and makeup done, while also arranging their bouquets that they would carry down the aisle later that afternoon.
The beautiful outdoor ceremony was held on a gorgeous day on the Valley Center property. Surrounded by friends and family, Bri and Kendall said their vows and said “I do.” One of the details that I loved was how they provided white parasol umbrellas for guests to use during the sunny ceremony. Not only was this practical, but it looked so good in pictures! The gorgeous ceremony had the guests laughing, crying, and so grateful to share this moment together.
One of the most touching aspects of Bri and Kendall’s San Diego wedding was the personal touches that Bri and her family crafted themselves. The beautiful vases used throughout the ceremony were all handmade by the bride and her loved ones, adding the most personal and meaningful elements to the wedding decor.
A memorable detail that I loved was the custom cocktail napkins and t-shirts featuring the lyrics “Can I get a kiss? And can you make it last forever?” which was a sweet nod to See You Again by Tyler, the Creator Featuring Kali Uchis; a song that became the unofficial theme of their San Diego wedding day. I love it when couples add a little bit of their personality to their wedding day. Now, anytime their friends and family hear that song, they will think of their wedding!
After the ceremony, the sun began to set, and that’s when the party really started! Bri had a quick outfit change, and in true California fashion, no one could resist the pool that was on site. What began as a few people dipping their feet into the pool quickly turned into a full-on pool party. As a wedding photographer, this is the kind of wedding reception that we dream about, when you forget about all of the traditions and just have fun with your friends and family, even if that means you end up in the pool by the end of the night. Everyone jumping into the pool not only made for some fun photos, but also made Bri and Kendall’s wedding day unforgettable!
The couple’s vision of creating an organic feeling with lush greens and allowing San Diego’s stunning Valley Center views to be the star was executed flawlessly. The natural landscape provided the perfect backdrop for their San Diego wedding day, with textural details that enhanced rather than competed with the surrounding beauty. Every element felt intentional yet effortless, creating that coveted San Diego wedding aesthetic that feels both relaxed and refined.
From the handmade ceremony decor to the pool party, you could tell that this couple prioritized their guest experience. The decision to have everyone stay on the property created the perfect atmosphere where every guest felt like part of the family.
When Bri received her San Diego wedding photos, her reaction said it all: “I love them so much, Kendall loves them too. I have already sent them out to everyone, and I keep getting messages back saying they’re all crying, looking through everything. You did your damn thing, I’m absolutely obsessed. I can’t wait to print. I can’t thank you enough, everything turned out amazing, you are amazing, I could not imagine anyone else there!!”
Bri and Kendall’s San Diego wedding was a perfect mix of romantic and organic. Their San Diego wedding is a great reminder that the best weddings happen when couples stay true to their vision and prioritize what matters the most to them, enjoying the company of their friends and family.
