Jillian and Garrett knew they wanted a celebration that would be both intimate and unforgettable. Their Turks and Caicos wedding at Beaches Resort turned into a three-day celebration that perfectly captured their love story by the Caribbean Sea.
I love it when couples turn their wedding into a whole weekend experience! Jillian and Garrett’s wedding in Turks and Caicos was exactly that. The celebration kicked off on Thursday with a welcome party, while everyone settled in to start the festivities. Friday was dedicated to a fun couples session, and Saturday was the big day for their wedding ceremony and reception.
One of my favorite things about destination weddings in the Caribbean is that you can really stretch out the celebration and spend quality time with your guests instead of cramming everything into one rushed day.
Here’s the thing about getting married in paradise, sometimes Mother Nature has her own plans! During our trip, three storm systems were out in the Atlantic, and we definitely felt their effects on Thursday night and Friday. The wind and rain were no joke, and I’ll be honest, we were all a little nervous about what Saturday would bring for the big day.
But here’s what I always tell my couples: trust the process. Saturday morning arrived with absolutely gorgeous weather! The storms had passed, leaving behind that perfect Caribbean atmosphere that made for the most stunning photos. Sometimes crazy weather is worth it for those dramatic skies and that incredible light.
One thing I loved about Jillian and Garrett’s wedding was how calm and easy the morning felt. Jillian got ready with her sister and two cousins, who were her only bridesmaids. Having such a small, intimate bridal party created the most relaxed atmosphere.
There’s something really special about keeping your bridal party small and filled with the people closest to you. The energy was so chill and happy, exactly what you want before walking down the aisle at your wedding.
After photographing Jillian and Garrett’s Turks and Caicos wedding, I can honestly say the Caribbean is one of my favorite destinations for shooting weddings. The accessibility of Turks and Caicos makes it such a smart choice for couples wanting a destination wedding without the complexity of traveling halfway around the world.
The natural beauty of Turks and Caicos provides the most incredible backdrop for wedding photos. The turquoise water, white sand beaches, and that golden Caribbean light create images that feel both vibrant and romantic. You really can’t beat it for a destination wedding location.
Plus, resorts like Beaches make planning a Turks and Caicos wedding so much easier. Everything you need is right there on the property, from accommodations to ceremony locations to reception spaces. It takes so much stress out of destination wedding planning.
The ceremony was absolutely beautiful and went off without a hitch. After all the weather stress, seeing everything come together made it even more special. The ocean breeze, the sound of the waves, and the natural beauty surrounding you on your special day create an unforgettable atmosphere.
Jillian and Garrett’s ceremony captured everything I love about destination weddings. It was intimate, meaningful, and set against one of the most gorgeous backdrops you could imagine.
Here’s one of my favorite unique touches from Jillian and Garrett’s wedding; instead of doing a traditional first dance, they did a champagne tower together! I love it when couples put their own spin on wedding traditions and do something that feels authentic to them. There are no rules on your wedding day, no one is saying you have to do a first dance, if you’d rather toast with champagne instead do it!
The champagne tower moment was so fun to photograph and created such a celebratory vibe for the reception. It’s these kinds of personal touches that make each destination wedding unique and memorable.
If I had to describe the overall feel of Jillian and Garrett’s Turks and Caicos wedding, it would be vibrant but moody. The dramatic weather leading up to the wedding day actually added this incredible atmosphere to the photos. We got those rich, saturated colors and dramatic skies that you just can’t plan for.
This wedding perfectly shows that sometimes the “perfect” weather conditions aren’t always sunny and bright. Those moody, atmospheric moments can create some of the most stunning and unique wedding photos.
Jillian’s reaction to her wedding photos said it all: “There are soooo many good ones! We are obsessed! My girls did the damn thing.”
Nothing makes me happier than knowing my couples are thrilled with their photos and can relive their special day through the images.
If you’re considering a Turks and Caicos wedding, I can’t recommend it enough! The combination of travel accessibility from the US, the natural beauty, and a ton of great resorts to choose from makes it such a great choice for couples wanting a destination wedding. The Caribbean is easy to get to, and Turks and Caicos offers that perfect mix of luxury and laid-back island vibes.
Jillian and Garrett’s Turks and Caicos wedding reminded me exactly why this destination is such a popular choice for couples.
